The chronicles of one missional community.

Welcome to Blogdom.

Well, we’ve talked about it and now here we are… a group blog. These are the voyages of a small band of borderline nut-cases in Winnipeg attempting to live missionally, intentionally knitting our lives together as a community. We’ve been at this since (roughly) January of 2005, but some of us have known each other for something approaching 20 years now.

Some of us — or most of us — have become disillusioned with institutional church in its attractional mode and are exploring new modes of expressing our faith. Some of us are living out what has elsewhere been called “a churchless faith” while others remain an occasional part of other church congregations.

These pages tell our story as it unfolds.

And as your story unfolds, I’ll check in to follow along. :)
Here’s a shout of support from some folks in Minneapolis following a similar path. Good to know there are more of us “borderline nut cases” (as you put it) out there. I also hope to hear and get to know the voices of more in your community that you Bro Maynard.
    Peace to you all,
    A

Hi Guys, welcome here. A***n, good to have you pop by - I think maybe I owe you an email, would be nice to catch up and hear more about how the Amsterdam trip was. Your community has been mentioned in ours when “Missional Chickie” exchanged emails with you a while back. We’re very fortunate to be able to draw on the experience of others and hope to be able to offer the same encouragement to others.

Bill, some of these folks jammed out on our last pub night but I’m sure you’ll be meeting some of them soon. Of course I’ve shared snippets of our journey on my blog and in the emerging church panel that we both took part in recently. Hope that ‘perplexed’ is good on ya today… Paul said he was “always perplexed” (in one translation) so that puts you in good company ;^)

    Gratia vobis et pax,

Aha! So now I know the identity of “missional chickie.” :) Cool. I was wondering about that….
    Thanks for the chuckle. :)

    Hey guys,

My only regret is that I’m no longer in Winnipeg — I’d be there in a second otherwise!
